Consuming dairy products in moderation

Dairy products are a source of protein, vitamins and minerals and are associated with various health effects. Full-fat dairy products, such as milk, cheese, yoghurt and cream, contain relatively high levels of saturated fat. Dairy products that are lower in fat, such as buttermilk, low-fat quark, semi-skimmed milk and low-fat yoghurt, are a good alternative. You could also try putting a little less cheese in your sandwich.

Consuming large quantities of dairy products increases the risk of prostate cancer

There are studies that show a link between consuming a lot of dairy products and a slightly higher risk of developing prostate cancer. This is probably due to the presence of the mineral calcium in dairy products. Please note, however, that calcium is important for a number of processes in the body. Limit your total dairy consumption to a maximum of two or three portions a day.
