Privacy-sensitive data or personal data are processed via the website iGene.nl and iGene.eu. iGene Products BV considers careful handling of personal data of great importance. Personal data is therefore carefully processed and secured by us.

In our processing, we adhere to the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR legislation). This means, among other things, that we:

  • clearly state for what purposes we process personal data. We do this through this privacy statement;

iGene Products BV is responsible for data processing. In this privacy statement we explain which personal data we collect and use and for what purpose. We recommend that you read it carefully.

Use of personal data
By ordering or using our service you leave certain data with us. That can be personal data. We only store and use the personal data in the context of the service you have requested, or of which it is clear that it is provided to us for processing. 

We use the following data for the purposes stated in this privacy statement:

processing When you order an iGene DNA test, we use your specified postal address for processing. After receiving the iGene DNA test kit, you take the DNA samples yourself. 

You log in anonymously in the iGene app and you randomly generate a tube code that you paste on the tubes with which you return the collected DNA sample. 

With this tube code you can now log in to the iGene app to consult the iGene report. Your DNA data is processed in the iGene app, this information cannot be traced back to you as an identifiable natural person. The information in the app can only be traced back to the tube code. Do not share your tube code with third parties.

After delivery of the kit, the postal address is removed from the administrative systems of iGene. The payment details are retained. After completion of the test, the DNA samples examined are destroyed.

In addition to the information on our website, we can inform you about our new products and services via email or social media.

Contact form and newsletter
We offer a newsletter with which we want to inform interested parties about our products and / or services. Every newsletter contains a link with which you can unsubscribe. 

If you fill in a contact form on the website, or send us an e-mail, the data you send us will be kept for as long as the nature of the form or the content of your e-mail requires for the complete answering and processing thereof.

App store 
The app that provides the service is downloaded from a third-party app store. We have no influence on which personal data the provider processes and for what purpose. We recommend that you read the relevant privacy statements of the respective provider.

We do not publish your customer data.

Disclosure to third parties 
iGene can only share your data with third parties if you give permission for this in the app. 

Social media 
Social media buttons are included on our site . With this, the administrators of these services collect your personal data.

Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to keep track of how visitors use our website. We have entered into a processor agreement with Google to make agreements about the handling of our data. Furthermore, we have not allowed Google to use the obtained Analytics information for other Google services , finally, we do not anonymize the IP addresses.

We take security measures to limit abuse of and unauthorized access to personal data. In particular, we take the following measures: 

  • Access to personal data is protected with a username and password;
  • We use secure connections (Secure Sockets Layer or SSL) that protect all information between you and our website when you enter personal data.
